Concept- Breloth the Paladin

Breloth the Paladin
A brash young knight lives in the world that King Arthur left behind.
The ruling king orders an invasion of an enemy country. The invasion is ambushed and routed, crippling Albion’s military strength. Breloth was not sent on the invasion, his patron Lord Prydwen sent him on a special mission for the church. He was sent to eliminate a group of pagan druids who were suspected of sacrificing a villager. He confronts the druids, and they overwhelm him. The druids give him two options: be killed on the spot or give the druids a chance. He decides to learn about the druids and their ways. He takes what he learns from the druids and becomes an incredibly swordfighter. He struggles in political intrigue, faces an undead Roman Legion that besieges Camelot, a war with a foreign country, spends time behind enemy lines and learns that even enemies are people too. With each trial he becomes more and more of a heroic figure, changing drastically from the young, brash, close-minded zealot that he once was. Eventually he becomes a hero to all. He learns that Prydwen had orchestrated some events in order build up his and Breloth’s reputation, thus putting him in an excellent position for the throne. Breloth betrays and kills him, causing a civil war. Breloth unifies his country against Prydwen’s brutal followers, the Inquisition.
Characters are very dynamic. He falls in love with Arwen a skilled scout, their relationship becomes impossible despite their feelings. His cousin Aronis becomes a mage’s slave and is partially rebuilt with magical golem parts and fights with the Inquisition. Adrian is a mute wizard, who speaks solely through a summoned ice elemental, Crisp. Adrian stays with Breloth throughout all of his travels. His best friend Geoffrey is killed defending Camelot from the Roman Legion. The They break free of the spell and are released into the afterlife. Renawen is a staunch ally of Breloth, he is by his side until he is killed fighting the Norse. Jarl Ulfgar is Breloth’s patron and advisor in the Norse lands, Breloth helps the old warrior Cu Chulainn finish his last battle.
Roman Legion is raised when Breloth is sent to recover important items from their tomb- the Romans are bewitched and believe that they are still alive and conquering an evil barbaric people. Breloth is sent to war against the Norse. He is brutally capable in battle, but increasingly becomes sickened by it. Breloth becomes separated from the Camelot army, and travels through Norse lands, experiencing their way of life, and meets many of the heroes from ancient Norse and Celtic mythology. Breloth helps stop a major battle from taking place, and ends the war. He returns to Camelot a hero amongst his people. Prydwen reveals that he was preening Breloth to take the throne by orchestrating his parts against the Legion and the Norse. Breloth is stunned by Prydwen’s evil manipulations, and kills him in a duel in Prydwen’s own chapel. Prydwen’s followers rally against Breloth, forming the Inquisition, and plunge the country in civil war. Breloth forms an alliance with the allies he has made, and is able to unify Camelot once again. Tired of the conflict that is so ingrained with his life, he places Adrian on the throne and fades away, disappearing into countries unknown.
